yo o komete
mano kakiwaza no
kutabire ni
hi o fukiokoshi
cha o nomi ni keri
crowding night
weary with the work
of writing things
blew the fire to life
and drank some tea

I was struck by how my evening's experiences had already been experienced by Shiki, writing his tanka. Humanity is a small thing!
